Mailer

Okay, now it's Spring break so you don't have to come to school. However, it doesn't mean you don't have to work on your mailers. On the contrary, use your week to rest, but be aware that you have a lot of work to do.

That being said, let's cover a few things you have to do during the break.

1. On Monday, March 15, you'll need to bring a comp of your mailer. It doesn't have to be full size (although it'd great if you'd go full size). It must be color and have ALL the content in it.

2. Your comp MUST show front and back and MUST be spray mounted together, which means it can't be two sheets of paper apart.

3. Remember to use at least the recycle logo. You can also use other related logos, like the FSC, made with wind power, mixed sources, printed with soy ink logos, say the % of PCW (post-consumer waste) in it, etc, as if your mailer was truly made with these papers and inks. These logos are just a detail, so don't make them big.

4. You can use your own photos or the client's photos (if applicable) and if all of them are good quality photos and visually appealing.

5. To finalize, here's a list of things you have to have in your mailer:
5.1. your client's logo
5.2. real content (it can be anything, but the copy must be real)
5.3. real taglines (it must encourage readers to take action)
5.4. the recycle logo
5.5. you client's address/addresses & contact info

* Once again, I'll remind you of the margins. Leave some nice and decent breathing area around the copy.
** Avoid using the same typeface you used in the logo in the taglines and/or copy. Your designs must be consistent, coherent, but very rich at the same time.
*** Whatever typeface or typefaces you choose in your mailer (two are enough), remember that you should keep their use consistent.
